Battersea Power Station

Battersea Power Station is a mixed media painting created with multiple layers of acrylic, spray paint, charcoal, and Posca pens to achieve a vibrant final piece. As with many of my works, I’ve used color to capture the essence of a place, a time, and what it means to me. Battersea Power Station was undergoing regeneration during my early years living in London. Once an abandoned industrial landmark, it was being revived, once again becoming a focal point of the city. I’ve layered pink and orange to create a reddish tinge—symbolic not only of the power that once emanated from the station, but also of the energy and effort it took to reignite this building’s spirit, transforming it into something entirely new.
