About:
I try and paint places that hold sentimental value and importance. I grew up in Cambridge and my Dad, Brother and friends went there. This amazing building - Fitzwilliam College was designed by the great architect Denys Lasdun (who also designed the National Theatre). His concept of a lantern roof and social space to gather were new to Cambridge. I love what this architecture symbolises - the notion that together the greatest ideas are sparked. The bold use of orange reflects the dynamism and energy of brilliant thoughts being sparked.
